Zapier MCP & SDK on Databricks:
Build AI Agents That Actually Do Something
Your data-quality checks know what failed. A human runbook knows why it matters and who owns it. This 60-minute course shows you how to connect both worlds with Zapier and build a chat interface, a dashboard, and an automated email alerter on top of Databricks.
How to Orchestrate AI Like a Pro with Zapier
In this video, you'll see how Zapier is leading the future of AI automation, from simple integrations to full AI orchestration across thousands of tools.
About Zapier
I've been using Zapier for years for LearnDataEngineering.com processes. It's great. And now it's even better with the SDK and MCP!
Zapier started as a simple way to move data between apps. Today over 3.4 million businesses run on it, from solo founders to Fortune 100 teams, and it's become the thing that sits in the middle of how teams automate work and put AI agents to use, without needing an engineer for every single connection.
The two newer pieces are the MCP server and the SDK. MCP is for chat: it lets an AI like Claude talk to your other apps directly, so you can just ask it to check something or do something. The SDK is for builders: it's the code-level access to over 9,000 app integrations, no OAuth flows or token handling required, so you can wire automations and agents into your own apps.
We're working on a course right now that walks through both, built around a real Databricks data-quality use case. More on that soon.
The thing I really like about it: IT still sees everything that runs. You're not duct-taping API keys together in the background hoping nobody asks how it works. Zapier handles the auth, the audit trail, the governance, so the agent (or you) can just go act, instead of waiting three days for a Jira ticket to get approved.
That's the gap most "AI tools" don't close. Plenty of teams have AI. Few have a safe, visible way to let it actually touch their stack. Zapier is how you do that without becoming the integration team yourself.
